This breed is an adaptable dog, with great hardiness and resistance to disease, it adjusts to the environment no matter
how harsh the conditions can be. The dogs today are mainly used for herding, hunting, fishing and other water activities. It
also makes a great companion.
As a herder the Spanish Water Dog learns rapidly using itīs initiative to perform with little instruction. It is amazingly
agile, leaping and turning like an acrobat. The breeds webbed feet make it a great swimmer and this, it does with ease.
The Spanish Water Dog does not trust strangers which makes him an excellent watch dog. As long as this breed is kept active
they will be a happy and rewarding friend.
